Nearly BGN 173 million have so far been allocated to support micro and small enterprises in Bulgaria. The funds are from the operational program „Innovation and Competitiveness“, announced the Ministry of Economy.
As of October 8, 21,173 project proposals were approved for funding under the procedure „Support to micro and small enterprises to overcome the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic“. They were considered in 28 evaluation sessions. Contracts have been concluded for all project proposals under the procedure and payments have been ordered, as the provided funds reach BGN 172,672,262.70.
Based on the amendment of the National Strategy for Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises 2014-2020 adopted by the Council of Ministers, an order for amendment of the Conditions for application under the procedure has been prepared, providing for the possibility of re-requesting by the applicants the project proposals submitted by them.
The budget will be increased from BGN 173 to BGN 225 million, the Ministry of Economy announced. An additional BGN 52 million has been provided under the anti-crisis measures implemented by the ministry in support of the liquidity of micro, small and medium-sized companies in our country in the emergency situation due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Under the program „Support for medium-sized enterprises to overcome the economic consequences of the pandemic COVID-19“ (BG16RFOP002-2.077) an evaluation commission was formed, which started the process of evaluation of the submitted 1,932 units worth BGN 263,688,340.21. is the actual assessment, which is in two stages – administrative compliance and eligibility and technical and financial assessment, as the statutory period for completion of the assessment is 3 months.
