The Vazrazhdane Party came out with a sharp position against the ruling party because of their actions on the Macedonian issue. The political force strongly opposed the recognition of the Macedonian language and identity. We publish their position without editorial intervention:
“National betrayal or another attempt to erase Bulgarian history are the latest insane decisions of our ruling government, which is about to make another compromise, but in foreign interests.
GERB and the United Pseudo-Patriots are on the verge of committing an act equivalent to treason, an attack on Bulgarianness. Another desecration of the memory of all Bulgarians who shed their blood and gave their lives for the cause of Macedonia.
Today we are talking about a „compromise“ on the part of Bulgaria, which would allow the start of formal negotiations with Northern Macedonia for its membership in the European Union. A compromise, the discussion of which we should not even allow in our minds, because such a „compromise“ on the part of Bulgaria for the recognition of the Macedonian language and Macedonian identity is tantamount to accepting and recognizing historical falsification.
This is obviously understood by all other neighboring countries, but not by the Bulgarian government, which is about to commit another treason and give our history.
Recognizing the Macedonian language and identity is as absurd as recognizing the identity of the Jedi, for example, just because in the United States 1 million people recognize themselves and declare themselves Jedi, in Austria their number is 100,000, in Britain – 400 thousands. Despite this number, it is not enough to recognize something unreal and historically non-existent.
The boundless patience of our government is inexplicable with regard to the unwillingness of Northern Macedonia to implement the Treaty of Friendship, which the two countries signed in 2017. Also the desire to limit the rights of the Bulgarian people to respect the rights of the nation which steals our history.
This absurdity occurs in the period when the so-called „united patriots“ participate in the government, which allows an act incompatible with patriotism, an act of national betrayal, which allows the theft of Bulgarian history.
From Vazrazhdane we ask: Whose national interest serves this decision? Whose interest is the Bulgarian ambassador fighting for during his speeches in the European Union? Whose efforts support the „united patriots“ – Ekaterina Zaharieva, who is willing to give Bulgarian history? Doesn’t that sound more pseudo-patriotic?
Vazrazhdane’s position on the issue of Northern Macedonia is extreme and unwavering:
We are adamant that the recognition of the Macedonian language and identity is unacceptable. This is tantamount to a national coup against historical truth and justice. Let no compromises be allowed on the part of Bulgaria, which are tantamount to national betrayal and distortion of historical truth and justice.
The anti-Bulgarian strategy for dividing the Bulgarian people into its main parts and ethnographic groups, such as Moesians, Thracians, Macedonians, Shopi, Dobrudzha people, and so on, should not be served. It is clear to Bulgarian citizens that the next step is the denationalization of these groups and their transformation into something different from the Bulgarian one.
We call on self-proclaimed „united patriots“ to act as such and to leave the ruling coalition immediately to put an end to this absurdity. If they do not, they will once again show that they are „pseudo-patriots“ whose sole purpose is power and in its name are ready to stand in the zone of political populism, to bet on talk, but not on real action. with which to preserve our national identity, history and traditional Bulgarian values.”
