We are tired of being used for political interests, fishermen said during their silent protest on the Chengene scaffolding today. They were outraged by the fact that they were always promised before elections that their property would be legalized, and then politicians seemed to forget about their commitment.
The old fishermen have lived in the village since the 90s and pass on their knowledge and experience to their heirs. Initially, there were about 15 buildings and gradually they began to increase. Residents are very disappointed with the situation they are in and that they are connected to certain people in politics. They claim that they have been forced to live illegally for 30 years because the rulers clearly do not want to do a quality job.
Locals also disagree with the newly built properties of people who do not even understand fishing. Their buildings are two-storey and not even boats can get out of the sea. The reason is that these buildings clog the canals. According to residents:
„The bigger your boat, the bigger your house should be.“
In front of Iskra.bg the locals shared that in order to be a fisherman you need to carry it with you. They said that they pass on the learned knowledge from generation to generation. Their desire is to continue the traditions and not be disturbed by political interests. Everyone was grateful to the sea for favoring them with a good catch. They have confidence:
„Whoever gets on a fishing boat should buy one.“
