The leader of the political force Kostadin Kostadinov described the accusations as unfair and commented:
„Today at 11:00 the case for the ban of the largest opposition party in the country will be heard! The government pointed out their greatest enemy. The battle is hard, but we believe in our rightness. It is time for justice and objectivity to prevail!”
Nevertheless, the party will run in the parliamentary elections on April 4, Kostadinov said.
„At today’s court hearing, all the additional requested evidence was collected, which we had not been able to gather in the previous one. For us, things are extremely clear. This is a white-threaded request from the state prosecution, which is an attempt to attack a political party that is in opposition outside parliament. Everyone can ask themselves the question – if this is allowed, what can happen to any other party that is not part of the ruling coalition. This is inadmissible and at this stage, so many years after the establishment of a party, such an issue cannot be opened.“, commented lawyer Rosen Rachkov.
We believe that the claim is absolutely unfounded, and the case has been announced for resolution, revealed the lawyer. Rachkov. According to him, there is a deadline for supplementing the pleadings in written defense. He is convinced that the Bulgarian court will reject „this absurd claim“. Otherwise, we are going to a totalitarian regime, the defender stressed and then pointed out:
„It is not our burden to prove in this process. We have gathered evidence at this hearing that these are not dead souls, but that members, founders were actually present and that these declarations, which the prosecution claims were signed under pressure. These were established at both meetings. Psychological pressure was exerted on the persons.“
Kostadinov added that they believe in the Bulgarian court, but it is obvious that the Prosecutor’s Office is fulfilling a political order. According to him, it depends on the court whether order and security will win. According to him, the modern history of Bulgaria is currently being written.
