„Middle European Class“ political party is against the amendments to the Electoral Code, which lead to an increase in the constituencies in Turkey. The political force issued a statement stating that they were against the changes, based on their experience from the sections in Turkey, gained during the parliamentary elections in 2017 and 2021.
„In both votes, together with our supporters, we provided members of sectional commissions and advocates in Turkey, and we know firsthand how elections are held there. We saw with our own eyes that the elections there are not held democratically, but with pressure, under construction, with mass violations of the electoral code and with many people who do not even know who and what they are voting for.„, the party said.
The statement also reads:
„The atrocities and the violation of the laws in the case in Rosenets and the violations in the polling stations in Turkey, where the Bulgarian emigrants vote, equally serve the interests of the MRF and the residence.
However, can anyone dispel the suspicions that at the beginning of last week the MRF set a condition for the Democrats to withdraw their proposal to establish a temporary parliamentary committee on the case with the „residence“ in „Rosenets“? Was this a bargaining chip for MRF support for a quorum to hold a parliamentary session to vote on the proposal to lift the limit on the number of polling stations in non-EU countries?
Remember how GERB, BSP and MRF initially passed censure on the parliamentary session. Remember how the next day the items on the agenda for changes to the Electoral Code received support from the MRF, but the proposal to form the “Rosenets” Commission was not discussed in plenary at all. So another week was lost.
Here are more unanswered questions.
Is this the dirty deal that the MRF and the Democrats made in front of all Bulgarians, did they trade the Rosenets case, against which the municipal councilors from the „Middle European Class“ in Burgas rebelled a year ago, even when Democrats voted in favor of the residence? Who benefits most from the amendments to the Election Law?
We can ask these questions and many more together, but one of the answers is obvious to everyone.
The abolition of the maximum number of 35 polling stations in non-EU countries serves and benefits mainly the narrow party interests of the MRF because of the votes of the emigrants in Turkey, who vote for this party as a priority very often.
An unlimited number of polling stations can be opened freely in the EU. We did not make the United Kingdom go out of the EU and lose that opportunity.
The votes from the non-EU polling stations, mostly from the USA and the United Kingdom, Macedonia and Ukraine, do not play such a decisive role in the final election result, due to the fact that Bulgarians there do not vote organized and under pressure and support almost all political entities. However, this is not the case with Turkey.
Let’s say the other truth that due to the delay, the establishment of the temporary parliamentary commission „Rosenets“ becomes completely pointless due to the short life of this parliament, because it, if formed on May 5, will probably stop its activities with the forthcoming dissolution of 45 National Assembly.
Burgas MP Dimitar Naydenov explained in detail on social networks that many things are about to happen around Dogan’s „residence“, but we see again that everything is just a bluff and a pre-election trick.
This parliamentary committee was initially conceived as a committee of inquiry, then announced that it would be temporary, but they hide from you that there will be no legal burden. MPs do not have any power resources if they do not have an elected government to realize the wishes and will of this commission. The cabinet is the executive branch that implements the PM’s proposals.
We ask how without the Minister of Interior, without the head of the DNC, without the RDNC-Burgas, as well as without other controlling bodies, the MPs from the commission can take lawful actions on the case.
Unlike the parties that demonstrate political tricks and bargain, “Middle European Class“ political party has never backed down from its position against the lawlessness in “Rosenets”.
Only Konstantin Bachiyski and „Middle European Class“ have been opposing the atrocities for a year now, including fighting at all levels against violations of the law over the „residence“ in “Rosenets”.
Where were the lawyers from „Democratic Bulgaria“ at that time, who stated their intentions to change even the constitution, and during that time they did not want to get involved in the cases of „Rosenets“.
The court’s decision so far is the only democratic way to resolve the “Rosenets” case. But it turned out that Deputy Chairman of “Middle European Class” Konstantin Bachiyski is alone in the courtroom against “the residence”.
Currently, politicians in the National Assembly are using the opportunity to have free airtime, through which they are already conducting their election campaign in the national media for the early elections.
As for the “Rosenets” case, Do not lose hope!!!
It will be resolved in full in the 46th National Assembly, where together with its coalition partners it will be part of „Middle European Class“.
Sincerely, Georgi Manev
Chairman of „Middle European Class“political party
