The Prime Minister Kiril Petkov expects the Ministry of Finance to soon make a proposal for the abolition of the value added tax on bread and the reduction of that for native vegetables and fruits. He made his comment at the beginning of the meeting of the Council of Ministers. According to him, the government will hold an operational meeting to discuss a comprehensive package of measures against inflation and high prices in our country.

Fuel prices will be monitored on a monthly basis, the prime minister revealed. According to him, their traders have confirmed that they do not plan to increase them at the moment.

„We will monitor these monthly meetings like this to make sure that when prices fall on world markets, this will affect the columns of end customers“, said Petkov.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that they managed to keep electricity prices for household consumers without raising them. He noted that we are one of the small countries in Europe where this has not happened. According to him, the provision of BGN 4 billion in business aid was unprecedented, as a percentage of gross domestic product.

The help of the pensioners of BGN 70 is paid despite the hacker attack.

Petkov hopes that during today’s parliamentary session the money for the road companies will be voted so that they can carry out the repairs and maintenance of the roads. The amount amounts to over BGN 650 million.
