„If political debates break out, not expert ones, I don’t expect anything good, because when political debates break out, populism and political decisions are reached, which are unlikely to benefit the pension system. However, as a final result, I hope that common sense will prevail and the proposal for the budget for the State Social Security and the large state budget will be accepted, so that people get a breath of fresh air. I hope prudence prevails.

This was commented by the Minister of Social Affairs Georgi Gyokov on the occasion of the expected extraordinary meeting of the government tomorrow. According to him, if the vote of no confidence passes, the government will cease to exist.

„The scenarios are written in the Constitution. The president handed over the mandate again to the first political force „We continue the change“, then to the second political force – GERB and then for the third term – at the discretion of one of the other political forces in parliament, not necessarily the third. The president will decide who he will be. But it will be difficult to form another government within this parliament“, predicted Gokov.

The Minister specified that while the procedures are underway, the resigned government will continue to work and the budgets submitted by this National Assembly will be able to be adopted. According to him, new elections are not a good option for Bulgaria, because they will not change the picture. The Minister concluded:

„Sociological research shows – one a little further, another a little further back, but the picture remains the same. With this clarification that even the political representation in the 48th parliament will be more colorful, because sociologists claim that 8 parties will enter. The bargain will get bigger for the coalition and it will become very complicated. I do not expect the 48th National Assembly to bring any calm to political life, because things are so complicated that Bulgaria can now be governed only by a coalition and if it is not stable there will be turmoil as it is. at the moment.
