The ministers from the caretaker government honored the memory of the deceased junior inspector Petar Bachvarov with a minute’s silence at the beginning of the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers today, „BNT“ reported.
Caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev made the first comments on the incident. He expressed his sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased border policeman. The Prime Minister assured that the state would do everything necessary to protect the memory of Petar Bachvarov, as well as to protect the lives and health of the men and women who guard the Bulgarian border.
Donev also pointed out that for almost 100 days his government has been responsible and trying to resolve the crises it inherited. That is why he called for no attempts to transfer responsibility.
The Prime Minister was adamant that political statements about the reasons that led to the murder of the border policeman were embarrassing because they showed a lack of memory. He said pointing the finger at the caretaker cabinet and thus diverting attention from the main task of the parties at the moment, which is to form a regular government and pass important laws, was a real lack of respect for all the citizens of the country.
Donev is adamant that when it comes to border security, it is about the security of the whole country and the sovereignty of Bulgaria. According to him, every inaccurate word is a shot at the authority of our country.
