Candidate for caretaker prime minister Dimitar Glavchev arrived at Dondukov 2, where he is expected to present a list of his chosen ministers to President Rumen Radev and representatives of the parliamentary groups.
„We are holding today’s consultations in implementation of the new version of the Constitution. For the first time, I am holding consultations simultaneously with all the political forces represented in Parliament. I am doing this because, on the one hand, I am strictly following the new texts in the Constitution, and, on the other hand, I believe that the political situation requires political responsibility and maximum efficiency from all of us. Because both you and the parties, as well as the whole of society, expect some rather clarity about the caretaker government and the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections,“, President Rumen Radev said at the beginning, adding that he did not interfere in the selection of caretaker ministers.
Representatives of the BSP attend the presentation.
I have tried for experts to be present in the government, to have continuity and to be politically balanced, candidate for caretaker prime minister Dimitar Glavchev said. And then he presented the composition of the caretaker cabinet:
- Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance – Lyudmila Petkova;
- Minister of the Interior – Kalin Stoyanov;
- Minister of Regional Development and Public Works – Violeta Koritarova;
- Minister of Labour – Ivaylo Ivanov;
- Minister of Defence – Gen. Atanas Zapryanov;
- Minister of Foreign Affairs – Ivaylo Varbanov Tsenov;
- Minister of Justice – Maria Pavlova;
- Minister of Education and Science – Prof. Galin Tsokov;
- Minister of Health – Galya Kondeva;
- Minister of Culture – Nayden Todorov;
- Minister of Environment and Water – Petar Dimitrov;
- Minister of Agriculture – Kiril Vatev;
- Minister of Transport – Georgi Gvozdeykov;
- Minister of Innovation and Growth – Rosen Karadimov;
- Minister of Economy – Petko Nikolov;
- Minister of Energy – Vladimir Malinov;
- Minister of e-Government – Valentin Mundrov;
- Minister of Tourism – Evtim Miloshev;
- Minister of Youth and Sports – Georgi Glushkov;
After the presentation of the ministers, the co-chairman of „We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ Kiril Petkov spoke against the choice of Kalin Stoyanov, Maria Pavlova.
„A caretaker cabinet aims to achieve impartial elections where the bought vote is limited as much as possible. The election of Kalin Stoyanov is provocative and an insult in an attempt to hide the dependencies of this cabinet. He is a prominent political figure who associates himself with GERB and has no opinion of his own. The choice of this interior minister shows absolute insolence,“, he clarified.
Petkov revealed that he had a conversation with Gvozdeykov yesterday and told him that if he accepted the offer to stay in this official office, he would be excluded from „We Continue the Change“.
Subsequently, the representatives of „We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ Kiril Petkov, Hristo Ivanov and Gen. Atanas Atanasov left the discussion.
Against this background, the leader of „Vazrazhdane“ Kostadin Kostadinov shared his surprise at the reaction of the members of „We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“, pointing out that there were at least, in his words, 4 representatives of „We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ in this cabinet.
„There is Such a People“ /TISP/ described the constitutional amendments as meaningless. The leader Toshko Yordanov called for the amendments to be revised:
„It is our view that including this consultation after the constitutional amendments were made in this way is a demonstration of futility.“
According to him, the official cabinet can be influenced by the party: „It is quite logical to have doubts about party influence in this official cabinet. I would say that this cabinet really belongs to „We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ and Hristo Ivanov, because they elected Glavchev with their votes as chairman of the Audit Chamber.“
We remind you that on March 30, the head of state elected the chairman of the Audit Chamber as acting prime minister and assigned him to organize the caretaker government.
