99 signals for crimes against the electoral rights of citizens have been received so far by the Ministry of Interior. This was announced in Primorsko by the Minister in charge Kalin Stoyanov. 46 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated on the cases.
Since this morning, a vote-buying operation has been underway in the districts of Pernik and Dobrich, Kalin Stoyanov also said.
The schemes for the upcoming vote are well known. One is to forgive debts in exchange for support for a certain candidate. Currently the price per vote varies between 50 and 100 leva, Stoyanov said.
He suggested that there might be some last-minute change, but the Interior Ministry is monitoring the process.
Kalin Stoyanov also revealed that for this election there were 4 times more pre-trial proceedings initiated, and compared to the last elections the number of signals increased by 2.5%. The minister explained that there are certainly more signals this time. He attributed this to the greater trust of the citizens in the Ministry of Interior. In addition, the Ministry itself had operational signals that were being worked on.
