President Rumen Radev did not speak during the opening of the first session of the 51st National Assembly in the plenary hall. He made a brief comment to the media upon entering the Parliament building.
The Head of State stated that his first wish for the MPs is to successfully elect the leadership of the new National Assembly. Furthermore, the President announced that the task of the 51st Parliament is very difficult, given the real concerns about the possible manipulation of voters’ ballots. Radev believes that it was crucial that it was the members of Parliament who referred the matter to the Constitutional Court.
The President also stressed that the responsibility for forming a stable government lies with the leading political force.
