The National Assembly adopted in the first vote a bill of “Revival” for the protection of the Bulgarian church. This was announced by the political force.
The draft of “Revival” aims to restore the fundamental role of the Eastern Orthodox denomination in the preservation of Bulgarian society over the centuries.
The third political force noted that the only bearers and expressors of the Eastern Orthodox faith are the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Bulgarian Patriarchate, and any registration of entities aimed at seizing these functions is utterly reprehensible.
“Registrations of other Orthodox denominations should not be allowed with the sole purpose of humiliating the millennia-old role of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and its central place among the denominations in Bulgaria, given to it by the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria and the preamble of Article 10 of the Religions Act”, reads the position of “Revival”.
