There are 38 new confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria and twelve COVID-19 patients admitted for hospital treatment over the last 24 hours, announced the Bulgarian coronavirus task force during the regular briefing on Friday.
The total number of infected people in the country reached 2,138.
Seven of the new cases have been confirmed in the capital city of Sofia. In Blagoevgrad, there are 7 new cases, in Yambol 6, Razgrad 5, Kyustendil 2, Vidin 2, and in Veliko Turnovo, Pleven, Ruse, Sliven and Smolya there are single cases confirmed.
A 5-years-old has contracted the disease in the region of Kyustendil.
Two more medical workers from Sofia and Razgrad came out positive for COVID-19. The total number of medical workers who have contracted the new coronavirus in the country is 230.
Over the past 24 hours, 23 people from Sofia and 1 from Burgas have fully recovered. A total of 545 recovered patients have given negative PCR tests.
There are currently 321 COVID patients admitted for hospital treatment and 49 receiving intensive care treatment.
Four patients lost their lives to the new coronavirus over the past day. A 69-year-old man with kidney failure from Vidin, a 56-year-old man from Veliko Tarnovo suffering from diabetes an inflammation in the thigh, a 69-years old man from Gotse Delchev with heart issues, and an 89-year-old man with cognitive and heart problems from Pazardzhik
The casualties in Bulgaria as of Friday stand at 102 at an average age of 68,8 years.
