During a meeting of the Council of Ministers today, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov called for the support of a new design of the measure 60/40 totalling about BGN 1.3 billion.
So far, it has kept the jobs of 160,000 people from 9,000 companies. There were 17,000 applications, and small and large companies were supported – from those with two employees to those with 2,800. It cost BGN 130 million, which were granted free of charge.
The new measure, mentioned by Borissov, aimed to preserve another 300,000 jobs. It would be in force until September 30 and would have a budget of up to BGN 1 billion. Part of these funds (BGN 40 million) would be directed specifically to the passenger transport and tourism sectors, so that the measure there would become 80/20.
The third program would be aimed at hiring unemployed people, with BGN 160 million set aside for this purpose. The funds would be provided free of charge, and 50 million of them would be earmarked for the Tourism sector.
