A car was set on fire during the protest of the „Vazrazhdane“ political party in front of the Constitutional Court, which began at 10:00 a.m. today.

The demonstrators also lit smoke bombs. They also dumped bales of hay and animal droppings in front of the Council of Ministers building, where the court is located.

On the car that was set on fire, there is an inscription: „Resign, traitors!“. In addition, traffic in the area was blocked.

The members of „Vazrazhdane“ organized a protest because, according to them, the court is about to violate the Constitution and the signatures of 604,000 Bulgarian citizens who demand that a referendum be called to preserve the Bulgarian lev as the national currency in our country. The party believes that this will happen with the help of newly elected constitutional judges from the National Assembly’s quota, Desislava Atanasova and Belazelkov.

Moreover, leader of  „Vazrazhdane“ Kostadin Kostadinov defined the actions of the Constitutional Court as a crime. He said the hearing will be held today, and these people deserve a life sentence without parole.

„Vazrazhdane“ stated it would do everything necessary to one day get the constitutional judges what they deserve. The Constitutional Court was defined as the last remaining fortress of legality in our country, but it too would be taken aboard by the criminal majority. All this could not but cause indignation among the people. That is why „Vazrazhdane“ came out to protest – to protect the citizens’ right to democracy.
