Todor Bogdanov, a supporter of „Unity“ (Edinenie) party, has filed a report to the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection -Burgas about the presence of an unregulated landfill in the area of the village of Rezovo, Tsarevo Municipality.
„Walking in the area of the village, I came across an illegal landfill, which I assume is such, since there are no fences,“, Bogdanov told Iskra.bg. He also sent photographic material to support his claims.
The Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection-Burgas reacted quickly to the report. In its official response the inspection stated:
„In relation to your report, I would like to inform you that on 17 April 2024 an inspection was carried out by experts of the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection – Burgas, regarding the unregulated contamination with construction and biodegradable waste in the area of the village of Rezovo.“
During the inspection, it was established that „in front of the village of Rezovo on the left on a dirt road along the river in an area at a distance of about 2 acres, there is unauthorized dumping of construction and biodegradable waste“.
The institution has instructed the Municipality of Tsarevo to take measures to solve the problem within a certain period of time, after which control by the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection of Burgas will follow.
