A famous Bulgarian musician is arrested – who and why?

A famous Bulgarian musician was detained. This happened during a secret operation of the Economic Police in Plovdiv.

The conductor in question is Levon Manukyan. He is the director of the Razgrad Philharmonic.

According to initial information, Manukyan was detained for malfeasance. It concerns the appropriation of particularly large sums. It is said that a large amount of money was discovered during the searches. Their origins are currently under investigation.

According to unconfirmed information, the operation was carried out last Thursday. Manukyan was detained for up to 72 hours. It was about misappropriating sums by concluding fictitious contracts with musicians.

So far, despite the scandalous case, the Ministry of Culture has not yet come up with a position on the issue.
