1 in 100 people in the country is now infected with COVID-19. When we walk down the street and meet 100 people – one of them is a current carrier of coronavirus. This was commented by the mathematician of the National Operational Headquarters Prof. Nikolay Vitanov on the air of “NOVA”. According to him, care must be taken, because when 100 people enter the pandemic, get sick and go out, they infect another 124.

„This means that the pandemic is currently growing. We can expect that this will continue in the autumn-winter season.“

Professor Vitanov recommended that the health system prepare for 30,000 patients at the end of October. According to him, the system will withstand the pressure. He predicts that November will be critical and if we want to spend the winter well, we will have to endure it.

If we lose control of the situation, December and January will come and it will be unpleasant. However, if we manage to survive, there is hope that we will pass the winter with not so many cases. „

The specialist believes that the Bulgarian health system can withstand up to 500 infected people a day for 2-3 weeks.
