Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Petko Nikolov held a meeting with the employees of the company „LB Bulgaricum“ JSC, who took protest actions yesterday. The meeting was also attended by the management of the company and representatives of trade unions. During the meeting, the accumulated number of problems were highlighted. Demands were made for an increase in basic wages, for the provision of specialized workwear, for compliance with working conditions schedules for the cumulative calculation of working hours, and others. The disturbed dialogue between the workers and the management was highlighted. We’d like to remind you that „LB Bulgaricum“ is a state-owned company.
During the meeting, Dr. Petko Nikolov demanded the resignations of the entire management of „LB Bulgaricum“ and ordered the State Consolidation Company (SCC), which is the principal of the company, to take the necessary actions for an urgent replacement and registration of a new board. The Minister of Economy directed the State Corporation and the new board of the company to work out modalities to increase wages by up to 30% as soon as possible. The Minister also ordered that all options be explored for the modernization of the „LB Bulgaricum“ and that normal working conditions be ensured by implementing the Labour Inspectorate’s prescriptions.
Minister Nikolov stressed the strategic importance of „LB Bulgaricum“ for the Bulgarian dairy industry, being adamant that it is necessary to restore the social dialogue between the workers and the management of the company, as well as to ensure the sustainable development of the enterprise.
