„Vazrazhdane“ political party submitted a proposal requesting that each MP personally pay for an alcohol and drug test on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, when there is a parliamentary session. This was stated by MP Tsoncho Ganev during a briefing for journalists. The proposal is on the occasion of the sharp statement of Itzo Hazarta.
We remind you that yesterday from the rostrum of the National Assembly Hazarta addressed his colleagues from „Vazrazhdane“ in connection with the protest they organized against the „Green Certificates“ with the following statement:
„If I decide to call 500 or 1,000 of the people who voted for me and tell them to come into Parliament illegally, come and push the police. I will pay for the buses and I can give you BGN 40 each. Isn’t it right for the Prosecutor General.to ask me for parliamentary immunity? Should I be sued and put in jail? Does the law say that it applies only to me or to a handful of unfortunate fascists as well?“
At the beginning of the briefing, Ganev noted that it was disturbing for an MP to insult by using the word „fascists“ and it was worrying that this was tolerated by the current President of the National Assembly.
“We want and insist that this thing be adopted in the rules – each of us, the MPs personally pay for it (author’s note – the test for alcohol and drugs) and thus declare that it is adequate, does not make offensive qualifications to his people and other qualifications that undermine the prestige of Parliament. This is something we will insist on as a procedure.“
„Another main fact – Kiril Petkov had made a statement that he would invite protesters and representatives of the protesters to a meeting to discuss the whole current situation related to the „Green Certificate“, vaccinations and all these things that we as a society are familiar with. At this time there has been no invitation to „Vazrazhdane“. We do not know exactly who the Prime Minister will talk to. He will most likely take one of the mathematicians with whom he travels around all the media and explains exactly how this whole issue that leads to the division of society will be overcome.”, Ganev commented and added that they expect the Minister of Health to convene a working group as it was also promised to discuss the division of society.
Elena Guncheva from “Vazrazhdane” also commented on the proposal: „I believe that everyone should be responsible enough to know what the consequences are if they are caught with such substances in the National Assembly.„
