The Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA), Eng. Yordan Valchev, has dismissed the Director of the Directorate “Maintenance of Road Infrastructure” in the Agency, as well as the head of the Department “Investment and Repair Works” in the Regional Road Department in Pleven.
We remind that earlier today the Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov asked Eng. Vulchev to dismiss the heads of the RIA, namely – the director of the Directorate “Maintenance of road infrastructure” and the head of the department “Investment and repair works” in the Regional Road Directorate in Pleven.
The regional minister’s request follows information from the inquiry he appointed last week into the tragedy in the Pleven region. On March 31, 12-year-old Siyana Popova died in a crash on the road between the villages of Radomirtsi and Telish, and her grandfather is still fighting for his life after a heavy truck hit their car.
