As requested by National Security Chief Gen. Krasimir Stanchev the coastal line around “Rossenets” was strictly guarded and the access for foreign vessels restricted, said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during an emergency briefing of the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov, Minister of Interior Mladen Marinov, and Minister of Transport Rossen Zhelyazkov.
PM Borissov presented as evidence an order issued by Gen. Stanchev requesting protection services to be provided to Ahmed Doghan in park “Rosenets” for the period between June 10 and September 15.
The order was signed by the National Security Chief who is appointed by the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev. Borissov said that the order should be investigated by all institutions, incl. the National Sea Administration, Ministry of Interior, and Ministry of Defence.
PM Borissov stressed that as it turns out the government is safeguarding Ahmed Dogan’s serai. He added he warned about this before, but he was met with only smiles.
“Is it a very badly though-out plan of theirs. Isn’t it? President Radev grants the National Security Agency with more power and immediately after we receive such an order,” said the Prime Minister.
Karakachakov stressed that the army has no jurisdiction to protect national parks and gardens. He also asked whether Gen. Stanchev plans to request the resignation of the officer who dishonored a Bulgarian flag, rebuking the act.
Minister Zhelyazkov also said the National Sea Administration like many other institutions in the country is obligated by law to follow National Security orders.
The discharge of officer Ivaylo Spiridonov would be challenging given his perfect record at the Navy, said Zhelyazkov.
He also stressed that the Council of Ministers has never raised accusations of repressions when Ministers of the government were arrested and publicly escorted by the police.
“We didn’t say that once,” he said.
