The district prosecutor of Burgas, Georgi Chinev, reported to journalists an unprecedented migrant pressure towards Bulgaria. This is one of the leading topics of today’s meeting between the state prosecution, mayors of settlements from the region and the police.
“What we want to hear from the first person singular are the real problems, how we could improve the interaction, cooperation, communication with the local government, because we need real measures that will lead to real results in this direction. In summary, I can say that there is no increase in domestic crime, but there is a significant increase in crimes, respectively in pre-trial proceedings related to the wave of migrants”, pointed out prosecutor Chinev.
He also disclosed specific data. Only the District Prosecutor’s Office in Burgas is currently monitoring 380 cases related to migrant pressure, which, according to Chinev, is a significant increase of 141 cases.
“A very serious and disturbing figure!”
274 of the cases in question have already been resolved, but there are still unresolved ones.
“We are also observing an increase in traffic accidents, as a result of which death was caused after the use of narcotic substances and their analogues, as well as alcohol”, prosecutor Chinev also announced.
“In terms of migration pressure, it is without a doubt unprecedented. There is no analogue!
This was announced to the media by the deputy director of the ODMVR-Burgas, Commissioner Emil Pavlov. He also pointed out that the profile of channelers has changed and since the beginning of the year there have been established perpetrators from 17 different countries. It is about Germany, France, not only countries from Eastern Europe.
“The measures that the ODMVR-Burgas have taken and are currently yielding results are the construction of 7 checkpoints. Thanks to this, 128 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated so far, so we continue to emphasize analysis, especially of the movement, and make maximum efforts to prevent the passage of migrants and traffickers through our region”, said Commissioner Pavlov.
When asked about the case from two days ago, when a car with migrants entered Burgas from Sredets and again an accident occurred in the center of the city, he emphasized that in this case we are talking about the territory of the ODMVR-Burgas, which is not the only border.
And the fact that cars are caught in the interior of the country, he cannot comment on. As far as the specific case is concerned, it is a question of non-compliance with a police order, and the most important thing in this case is that there is no incident.
