By the end of 2020, an additional financial resource in the amount of over BGN 250 million will enter the Bulgarian healthcare system. There will be an increase in the salaries of physicians. This was stated by the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov.

The goal is to increase the income of everyone who works in the system. Also to allocate money for the purchase of equipment for health facilities, disinfectants and personal protective equipment.
Angelov clarified that currently 317 respiratory resuscitation devices have been purchased from the Ministry of Health. They will be given to university hospitals. 133 pieces of this equipment will be provided additionally for the municipal sites.
BGN 19 million are provided for the allocation of municipal hospitals. They will be distributed among 70 hospitals. Clinical pathways are expected to increase by approximately 10%. The percentage will be higher where there is currently less funding.
Doctors who fight the coronavirus in the first place will receive travel vouchers. They will amount to BGN 210.
The funds under Ordinance 3 are increased – an additional BGN 11.3 million. Of these, BGN 9.5 million will be additionally allocated to 44 medical institutions that are related to the treatment of patients diagnosed with coronavirus.
