The oral part of the competition for a new director of the State Enterprise „Port Infrastructure“ was held yesterday. This was revealed to Iskra.bg by our reliable source at the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
As we have already reported, surprisingly for many, the names of the three candidates who were admitted to the oral examination were made public on Monday afternoon. They are. Their names were published on the website of the transport ministry a few hours after it became clear that there will be no new caretaker government and the minister in charge Georgi Gvozdeykov will not be replaced.
The news came as a surprise, because the new director of the State Enterprise „Port Infrastructure“ will be appointed for a five-year term and by a caretaker cabinet whose main function is to organise and hold early parliamentary elections, not to make long-term personnel appointments.
Moreover, the State Enterprise „Port Infrastructure“ is not without leadership. Currently, one of the candidates for the permanent post, Ivaylo Ivanov, is temporarily acting as the Executive Director. It is for this reason that the expectation is that he will be the chosen new head of the State Enterprise „Port Infrastructure“.
And all this gives reason to many to ask whether the competition is not rigged and whether this is the reason why the caretaker authorities are in such a hurry to hold it.
The chairman of the committee that yesterday questioned the three candidates was Deputy Minister Anna Natova, who is still the director of a directorate in the same the State Enterprise „Port Infrastructure“. Moreover. She is on unpaid leave and if she does not continue in the post of deputy minister, it will mean that she is currently choosing a future head of her own.
Iskra.bg’s source suggested that the appointment of the new caretaker cabinet with Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will not even wait, and the director of the State Enterprise „Port Infrastructure“ will be chosen by the end of this week. Thus, the new transport minister will be faced with a fait accompli. Moreover, in this case it is not a question of party affiliation and ties with certain political forces, but of professional training and qualities needed to perform the relevant functions of the post.
The government is rushing to appoint a new General Director of the Port Infrastructure Agency. Why?
