While Bozhidar Bozhanov held the position of Minister of Electronic Government (MEG), no irregularities were found in the activities of the ministry. This was stated in a report on the matter by the Audit Office, confirmed by the MP from „Democratic Bulgaria“ (DB) on the social network Facebook. Furthermore:
„The Audit Office report on the activities of the Ministry of Electronic Government for the period 2022-2023 has been released. The report covers the spending of public funds and public procurement.
During my term, no issues were identified with public procurement and budget expenditures. The report summarizes that the activities were carried out in accordance with the law, and the internal regulations were sufficiently effective. The more serious cases related to procurement and contracts occurred during periods when I was no longer Minister.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the MEG 2022 team, because without experienced and conscientious staff, any minister would make mistakes. Unfortunately, many of the key employees were dismissed in the last year, which significantly reduced the inistry’s effectiveness. This is something that needs to be corrected in order for the Ministry to meet the high expectations of society.“
