„We Continue the Change“ held a meeting with the parliamentary parties in relation to obtaining the second mandate and national priorities for forming a government. The meeting was attended by representatives from BSP, „Democratic Bulgaria“ /DB/ and „Bulgarian Rise“. Academician Nikolay Denkov said at the beginning of the meeting:
„Let’s see where the boundaries are that we can cross and which we cannot, so that we can prepare a common document. There should be strong political support and each person should be an expert. Today, we have two goals: to see if we have agreement on the text of the draft decision. If something new is proposed, it can be included. That should be concluded today at this meeting. We have made every effort to hear the different points of view. The invitation was to all political parties, there are no preferences.“
Kristian Vigenin from the BSP pointed out that our country needed a regular government and political stability. He noted:
„You cannot go to a government for the sake of the government, on the basis of unprincipled compromises. The BSP executive bureau and the parliamentary group leadership reviewed the proposed draft with priorities. We appreciate positively the willingness of the „We Continue the Change“ to create an environment of dialogue, reflecting the priorities of the parties, including the BSP. Our participation is an expression of good will.“
In Vigenin’s words, the left shares the main goals – development of a competitive economy, energy independence, reduction of inequalities.
„There are also proposals on which we disagree. They cannot be corrected at this stage. The nature of the draft decision was also changed. Discussing today at the Executive Bureau, a formula for a minority government was launched – it seems to us that such a formula would make the government dependent on random majorities. There are no formations present today that are actually a majority. The BSP will not support the proposed draft decision, but we declare our readiness to hold a dialogue,“, Kristian Vigenin stressed.
Hristo Ivanov from DB commented that this is a serious political document that can be a basis for moving forward. He explained:
„I am concerned that political formations that are systematic are not here. We believe that this document is a form for the formation of a responsible government. We take into account what the BSP said, but we must understand that a cabinet, if it comes to one, will be dependent, as Mr Vigenin said, on majorities. Our attitude is to support you in specifics.“
The MPs from „Bulgarian Rise“ are adamant that their main priority is to form a regular cabinet.
