The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIA) requested the Turkish authorities to provide logistical assistance to the Bulgarian firefighters in connection with the wildfires that broke out. On the Bulgarian side, the need for additional fire-fighting equipment to fight the blaze was highlighted.
The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry asked the Turkish side to provide 4 bulldozers with two firefighting teams, 2 helicopters, as well as any other equipment that is suitable and adapted to the difficult conditions and terrain.
Meanwhile, the regional governors report to Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev every two hours on the situation in the respective region for which they are responsible. The information from the operational headquarters for fighting wildfires is also regular.
