Citizens of Burgas expressed their dissatisfaction with the war in Ukraine with inscriptions on the Monument to the Soviet Army in the city. This was shown by locals on social networks. The monument dawned with „Putin is a murderer“ and the hands of Soviet soldiers were painted red.
In front of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the seaside town there was also an inscription „Glory“. Yesterday, Ukrainians and Russians protested together in many Bulgarian cities. People raised placards calling for an end to hostilities. They all wanted the bloodshed in Ukraine to stop.
Ukrainians and Russians, opponents of Vladimir Putin’s regime, gathered in front of the Burgas monument today. They discussed how to help those fleeing the war when they arrive at the Bulgarian border.
Ukrainians and Russians claimed they had nothing to do with the inscriptions on the monument. Tomorrow in Burgas a big protest is being prepared against the military actions in Ukraine.
