Citizens of Burgas continue to complain about the noise of motor vehicles that move along the main thoroughfares within the city. The problem is long-standing and there is still no solution, although in recent months the police have conducted a series of actions in this context.
A letter has been sent to the Municipal Council-Burgas from a citizen of Burgas who claims to be one of the thousands of victims of car and motorcycle racing. According to him, this usually happens at night, when the traffic lights in the city are not working. He called on the competent authorities to do their job so that the problem can be finally solved and the citizens’ peace of mind can be guaranteed.
„Please inform me about the measures that the Burgas Municipal Council has taken or will take in relation to the violation of public order and the noise of cars and motorcycles on main road thoroughfares within the city.“
Iskra.bg would like to remind you that it reported on the problem already last summer. A series of police checks followed, with dozens of drivers fined and their cars with their silencers removed from the road. Checks are also carried out for risky driving, as well as for the so-called „drifting“.
Despite the sanctions, unscrupulous drivers and motorcyclists in Burgas continue to use the dark hours of the day to drive at high speed on empty boulevards. Apart from noise pollution, this is also a prerequisite for serious accidents, which so far have fortunately been avoided. The problem is expected to worsen as the weather warms in the coming months.
