Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has announced that the peak of the coronavirus will be in September such as the experts’ predictions. Viruses are generally killed by high temperatures in the summer, but this will not be the case.
“It’s a kind of war. We looked at Hollywood productions. There are at least 10 movies with a virus somebody has dropped. We will never know who the bastard did this. We are now looking at the consequences. Billions and trillions will be lost”, announces Borisov at the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
However, he urged Bulgarians not to panic, but to mobilize and be strong. And he added:
“What have we not overcome, let’s overcome this too!”
Borisov stressed that the most dangerous are the consequences that the coronavirus will have on the economy so the damage will be irreparable. He said the recession is big and would start talking again about unemployment and low incomes.
The prime minister said that no country in the world has stocks of protective clothing, masks and other necessary means in this situation, because no one could predict what would happen.
“The world is completely unprepared for such an epidemic. That is why vaccines are now being considered and money is being spent on innovative technologies”, he said.
The Prime Minister stressed that efforts are currently being made to manufacture protective clothing. Their quality will be such that they can be washed 50 times. The first 1000-2000 units are expected to be ready today.
There was also an attempt at mask smuggling that night. An attempt was made to export 20 000.
By Friday, a pan-European decision is expected that the European Commission will conduct procurement and that all Member States receive clothing and masks.
Borisov has announced that it is estimated that about 3 million people will leave the coronavirus.
