The BGN 40 per day allocated by the government for Ukrainian refugees will go to hoteliers who have accommodated them. The amount in question does not include value added tax, but it includes the tourist tax. In addition, three meals a day should be taken – morning, noon and evening. This was explained to Bulgaria On Air by Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva.
She explained that the funds in question should come from the state budget. But at the same time, talks are currently under way at European level, and it is possible that the money will be provided by the Solidarity Fund and directed to refugees from Ukraine. In this way, they will receive protection from European countries.
Georgieva also explained that there is a possibility for this assistance of BGN 40 per day to be provided for a period of 1 year. At the moment it is planned to be designed for 3 months. The Deputy Minister also explained that people who manage to find a job in the labor market within about a month, will lose this assistance.
As of yesterday, 18,000 beds were occupied with refugees in our country. With good distribution, they should not create difficulties for the summer tourist season.
Georgieva also explained that the war in Ukraine has affected the reservations in our country. It is expected that they will be about 10% less. In addition, there are canceled visits, as they are mostly from Russia and Ukraine so far are 1400.
