A fire was burning in the house in the Vazrazhdane quarter of Burgas, which we warned had turned into a haunt for homeless people, and it is possible that a tragedy would occur there. We remind you that the residents of the neighborhood complained to Iskra.bg that they had submitted numerous alerts about it to the police and the Municipality of Burgas, as they wrote to the construction company. Their request was for the property to be secured so that it would not become a gathering place for homeless people, gypsies, drug addicts and the like. However, there was no result.
The property in question is located on 67 St. Kliment Ohridski Street. It is located between two buildings, very close to the center and has a large yard. There is no electricity and water, nor is there a bathroom. Years ago in the house lived a man who passed away. So it was inherited by his relatives. They, in turn, have transferred their rights to the construction company „Tochev“ so that a new building can be erected there, acquaintances said. During the writing of the first article, Iskra.bg managed to contact two of the owners, but they flatly refused to comment on the case. We wanted to ask them in case of an accident who will be responsible for the fact that the property is not safe? If something irreparable happens, will the owners be to blame for not securing the house?
Around 19:00 on June 11, the tragedy we alerted about was about to take place – a fire broke out in the building. The accident happened less than a month after the first article was published.
Neighbors said the police were the first to arrive at the scene and found two blankets on fire. They asked for buckets of water to put them out, but as they responded, smoke began to come out of the windows.
At the same time, a fire brigade arrived and managed to extinguish the fire. Law enforcement officers found that there were people in the property who were about to burn down. Fortunately, there were no casualties now.
However, after the accident, the owners decided to secure the house by installing a barbed wire fence. An eyewitness told Iskra.bg that the next day one of the intruders in the property cut off the barrier with pliers.
Residents of the area gave a new alert. This led to the installation of a metal barrier.
According to them, this is not a complete solution to the problem, because the homeless and gypsies continued to enter from behind – from a place where the house is not safe.
However, the victims of the neighboring buildings say that after the publication of our article, the institutions have activated and the number of intruders has decreased, as well as the constant scandals. Construction work on the site is expected to begin in October this year.
