In the last four years, the state’s resources have gone to big business. This means that there has been oligarchization in Bulgaria, political scientist Dimitar Avramov told „BNR“. For him, this process is visible to the naked eye. This is especially clear when it comes to loans granted by the Bulgarian Development Bank. For him, that is exactly why GERB is currently defining the actions of the caretaker government as a purge.

For Avramov, it doesn’t even matter which exactly are the companies that have received money from the state. But what is important is the fact that former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the former government and the economy minister have given state resources to private benefit. The political effect of this is being observed at the moment and it is especially clear from the interviews of representatives of GERB and MRF.

Avramov predicted that over the next two months, behind-the-scenes talks would be held to form a new status quo government to halt changes in Bulgaria. By change he means that citizens have equal access to the state.

For the political scientist, the task of the official cabinet is to work in such a way that all Bulgarians feel that there is a positive change. Under all Bulgarians, Avramov explained that he was not only targeting supporters of the protest parties, but also those of even GERB and the MRF. And they need to understand that it is possible for changes favorable to the country to happen. For the political scientist, if this does not happen, the caretaker government will be declared revanchist and politicized. Therefore, it has no right to make mistakes and no right to politicize the assessment of Boyko Borissov’s cabinet. It should work only with facts and data and any abuse should be checked by the Prosecutor’s Office.

According to Avramov, two months is enough time for an audit to be carried out in each ministry. However, he reiterated that it should be done in an objective way, without prejudice.

The political scientist predicted that it was very likely that the 46th National Assembly would fail to elect a government. But for him, there is nothing scary about the country going from election to election. On the contrary. He said it was good to have strong voters and weak politicians.
