President of Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria, Plamen Dimitrov, said in a television interview that the estimated number of unemployed people in Bulgaria is to reach 330 000 by the end of the year. He also added that on April 6 alone more than 8 900 people have submitted their applications in the Bureau of Labor which is a record high number. The majority of people who lost their jobs apply for minimum benefits.

Dimotrov stressed that the minimum daily social payments should be increased from 9 Bulgarian levs to 17 Bulgarian levs.

He also believes that people who have no social securities should be subjected to food coupons and that there should be tax reliefs for self-employed people.

The President of Confederation of Independent Trade Unions finds the governmental financial aids to be well-thought out and well distributed but insufficient nonetheless. He also believes that there should be tax reliefs towards the people and the business.
