German tour operators terminated their programs in our country because Bulgaria is considered a risky destination, said representatives of the tourism industry.
Galina Taneva, the owner of the hotel, said that so far the season has started well. According to her, there are already reservations in the Sunny Beach resort. She pointed out that the beginning of the summer season is on May 1 with tourists from Poland and England. Taneva hopes for a successful summer and their work to be calm. Hristina Slavova from the Burgas Regional Tourist Chamber commented:
„Up until the outbreak of the military conflict in Ukraine, markets such as the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania were running bookings at 2019 levels. At this stage, most of the bookings are on pause.“
Slavova hopes that tourists from Britain and Israel, who have been absent for two years, may return. According to her, there are no mass cancellations of reservations in our country. She explained that the exact number of hotels that would not be open this summer season was not clear. However, she is adamant that 20-30% of children’s camps will not open.
The reason for the outflow of Russian tourists is what is happening between Russia and Ukraine. In this situation, it is certain that they will not be able to be relied on this year. Hotel owners are worried about this because the majority of holidaymakers in our country are Russians.
