Bulgarian citizens do not deserve what is happening to them in the crime segment regarding traffic accidents. This was commented by the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev. According to him, road trauma can be avoided to some extent and the results in this direction can be improved. Bulgaria is currently in one of the leading places in Europe in another negative ranking. According to the Prosecutor General, this is largely due to the lack of interaction between the institutions.

Geshev is adamant that in this case it is simply a matter of carelessness. According to him, practically no one is interested in this topic. And there were gaps in the legislation regarding it. That is why it was extremely important for the prosecutor’s office to have a dialogue between the individual institutions. They had to interact with each other in the name of the Bulgarian citizens. And the only opponent of the state prosecution was crime.

Geshev also pointed out that there is also a problem with the delivery of criminal decrees in case of detected violations. He welcomed the initiative to discuss the issue because, unlike other crimes, here the problem could be solved with more effort, with interaction and with a clear vision of what is being aimed at and which institution is responsible for what.

The Attorney General commented that he has seen over the years how it is easiest to do nothing. But in this way, people constantly die on the roads and are maimed, and not only Bulgarian citizens. Namely, the population of our country is the one who pays the salaries of the people in the institutions and therefore does not deserve such treatment.
