Hospitals, which currently have limited activity due to the Covid-19 crisis, will receive 85% of expected revenues.
This was announced by Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov who specified that these are the objects through which the usual flow of patients cannot pass, as anti-epidemic measures are observed.
Payment will also be restricted to some clinical pathways. This will happen because there is no real medical activity in certain hospitals and outpatient units.
Goranov said that he did not like the term „earnings“, but he had established himself in Bulgarian medicine and that it would be much smaller and would not be taken into account in the financing of medical establishments during the crisis:
The mechanism, which is currently being prepared and is currently underway by the Health Insurance Supervisory Board, will provide for funding to be reduced to 85% of the average monthly earnings of these hospitals and contracting partners – both outpatient care and dental care.
In doing so, the minister responded to criticism of the Left regarding the fact that many hospitals are facing bankruptcy.
MP Philip Popov said that the updated budget does not provide anything for sites that do not have direct involvement in the fight against the coronavirus.
Popov said that most of the medics at the Belogradchik hospital had resigned. This happened because of the inability to comply with the orders of the Ministry of Health. In his view, many other specialists in the field will also follow suit.
