People coming from Ukraine to seek security in our country will be divided into three groups. This was stated at an official press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs /MFA/ Anton Markov, Director of the Situation Center Directorate at the state unit.
The three groups into which persons entering the country will be classified are as follows:
- Bulgarian citizens and their families;
- Ukrainian citizens of Bulgarian origin;
- Ukrainian citizens who have nothing to do with our country.
Upon entry of refugees belonging to the latter group, they will be referred as such to the designated state agency, as „there is no other competent authority“.
For the Bulgarians returning to our country, if they have nowhere to go, there are tools to help them, the director explained.
On the occasion of entering our country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken steps to simplify the whole process, given the COVID measures. A meeting was also held with the Director of the border police so as not to delay people at the borders unnecessarily.
