The new director of the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture / NAFA / will be Hristo Panayotov. The 41-year-old financier by profession is part of the BSP for Bulgaria and current director of the Regional Directorate of the State Fund for Agriculture in Burgas, as well as an acting municipal councilor.
The new appointment takes place in unison with the signed coalition agreement between the ruling party, according to which the entire sector related to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (MAF) is entrusted to the BSP. This is the reason for the personnel changes in the Agency, after which it will be headed by a representative of the Socialist Party.
From now on, the eyes will be on Hristo Panayotov, waiting to see which path he will choose to take, heading NAFA. One will be difficult and will require the new CEO to invest all his energy, competence and will in working for change. The other is probably easier or at least well-trodden. However, going for it instead of a change, Panayotov would be another replacement.
Against the background of these considerations, we can not help but wonder: What will happen to Galin Nikolov, who is already a former executive director of NAFA?
Will Galin Nikolov be sanctioned for the lies he told? Will we see working institutions and finally compliance with the law with effective blame, or will we witness how the many signals filed against Nikolov are „swept under the rug“?
