„People from mixed areas are agitated to fit in the“ others „column instead of Bulgarians, and gender foundations are campaigning to legalize gay marriage.“
This is stated in their position by IMRO, in which they point out that playing with both the ethnic peace and the constitutional foundations of Bulgaria is dangerous. According to the political force, we are witnessing scandalous processes that are openly manipulated through a very serious and vital topic such as the national census, and the state must intervene and stop them.
„We receive alarming signals that en masse in the so-called Mixed areas, as well as in the Gypsy neighborhoods and the border areas with RS Macedonia, have been circulating emissaries for a month now, who are campaigning among the Bulgarian population in the column „nationality“ to write „Pomaks“, „Turks“, „Macedonians“ or simply „others“. , but not Bulgarians. This is a purposeful policy that has as its ultimate goal to pave the way for demands for the recognition of minorities and even for incitement to future separatist actions. We remind you that according to the Constitution, Bulgaria is a mono-ethnic country with ethnic, religious and cultural diversity”, said from the party and added:
“Art. 2 (1) The Republic of Bulgaria is a unified state with local self-government. Autonomous territorial entities are not allowed in it. And according to Art. 25 (1) “A Bulgarian citizen is anyone whose at least one parent is a Bulgarian citizen or who was born on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, if he does not acquire another citizenship by origin. Bulgarian citizenship can also be acquired by naturalization.”
Any actions to incite processes for the creation of minorities or autonomous territories should be treated as crimes against the Republic – Chapter One of the special part of the Criminal Code, reminded by IMRO. Another serious provocation they came across came from LGBTQ+ circles. In their position, the party points out that they use the national census to campaign for the recognition of gay marriages and the acquisition of more than the rights provided for all Bulgarian citizens, instilling through videos and a deliberate website that the gay community is abused and persecuted. . “We can do it now. If you live on a family basis with a partner of your gender, you can state this at the census. Our participation is an important step towards equal rights. The results will be the basis for legislative and managerial decisions in the next 10 years. Let’s show that we are many and we are here.”
This is another aggressive campaign, made through dramatic videos, which inflate the feeling of doom of gay couples, point out the IMRO. According to them, this is not true and aims only at the elitization of this community at the expense of heterosexual men and women. The party also reminded of an explicit text in the Constitution:
„Art. 46 (1) Marriage is a voluntary union between a man and a woman. Only civil marriage is legal. ”, Confirmed by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria with Decision № 13 of July 27, 2018. Conducting an accompanying campaign with an undisguised motive for legislative and administrative decisions leading to changes in the basic texts of the Basic Law is open request for interference in public and political life at the level of „government“ by a small group of people, which is a violation of Art. 1, para. 3 of the Constitution, namely: „No part of the people, political party or other organization, state institution or individual may appropriate the exercise of people’s sovereignty.“ And the „sovereign“ categorically and clearly said that he did not want gender provocations and Brussels declarations to promote LGBTI + the ideology and minority claims of certain groups of people.”
That is why the IMRO calls on all Bulgarians to take an active part in the census and to boldly and proudly declare that they are of Bulgarian nationality and profess Christianity as a religion. Which will automatically stop these dangerous processes, which are quietly attached to the National Census campaign, the party added.
“Many future actions of the next national assemblies will really depend on the results, which – as you can see – are far from nationally responsible. Let’s not give reasons to legitimize someone’s perverted desires.”
The IMRO also called on the prosecutor’s office to file a complaint and investigate the attempts to create minority groups in the mixed areas, as well as the open propaganda for interference in the state policy of a small but noisy group of people.
