MP from „We continue the Change“ politcal party Konstantin Bachiyski has been threatened from several places because of the revealed schemes at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, he said. According to him, the threats were made personally. He commented:
„Because of my work as a public figure for the last 10 years, I have received regular threats. Now one of the threats was that many young people were having a heart attack. The other was to think about how many of them disappeared when they were uncomfortable.“
Bachiyski noted that due to the phytosanitary control of the checkpoint, several other were threatened – Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ivan Hristanov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) Prof. Dr. Hristo Daskalov and several other MPs.

According to Bachiyski, the threats were made „by people who have been in control of the traffic at the checkpoint for 10 years„. He is adamant:
„This tap is already blocked. This is one of the schemes for which the mafia is ready to overthrow the state. Closing these taps is one of the main reasons for shaking these taps.”
During a meeting of the Anti-Corruption Commission in the National Assembly (NA), Prof. Daskalov revealed that he had been offered a large sum of money „so that nothing would be touched at the border„. However, this scheme was blocked, as a result of which he began to receive threats to his life and health.
