Former Foreign Minister Solomon Passy was named a „national traitor“ by users on the social network Twitter after his extreme and offensive statement, namely:
„It’s time to emasculate the lion of Bulgaria to adequately reflect our position on Ukraine!„
We remind you that Solomon Passy was born in 1956 in Plovdiv in the family of professor of philosophy and aesthetics of Jewish origin Isaac Passy and Lilia Uzunova, an endocrinologist. Passy is the founder of the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria. From 1992 to 2001 he was its chairman and currently honorary president. He was Foreign Minister in the government of Simeon Saxecoburggotskifrom 2001 to 2005. In 2004, he chaired the OSCE as Foreign Minister of a rotating country. In August 2005 he was elected Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the 40th National Assembly.
Over the years, experts and analysts have described his contribution to Bulgaria as rather negative, and there are even those that serve mostly foreign interests instead of those of our country. Another proof of these allegations is his post on Twitter on March 21, calling for the emasculation of the lion, which is a symbol of Bulgaria, that is, his dignity to be taken away, to be brought to his knees, bloodless, thus our country be deleted. And here come the questions:
„Is this publication another proof that Solomon Passy serves foreign interests?“ Can it be interpreted that the former Foreign Minister of Bulgaria is a national traitor?
Passy’s opinion also provoked sharp comments on the social network, with some users telling him in plain text that he was a „national traitor“.
„Passy, remove the Bulgarian flag from your profile, because even after a thousand lives, you will still not be worthy to even look at it.“
