The land fund of the Municipality of Tsarevo is deliberately sold at an extremely low price. This is what public figure Emil Peychev commented for Iskra.bg, giving another striking example – yesterday in 4 auctions, raising many questions, a total of 480 acres of orchards were sold.
The agricultural land in question is located in the land of the village of Velika and is located only 3 km from the sea. The municipal treasury had been receiving annual rental income from them, but at some point it was decided to sell them. According to Peychev, the decision went through a meeting of the Municipal Council in Tsarevo, with a majority of GERB, it was voted unanimously and eventually the procedure was launched.
„The frustrating fact – it’s one thing to have and know you’re going to take some rent money every year and it’s another to be aware that you’re selling everything and not expecting any revenue from that territory,“, he explained.
The order for the sale was published on the website of the Municipality of Tsarevo, but not immediately after its preparation, but when the deadline for purchasing the tender documentation expired, Peychev also shared, specifying:
„The order was hidden even though it should have been announced on the Council’s website and anyone who wants to play this auction and buy this land should be allowed to bid. But the warrant was issued when the deadline for purchasing tender documents had expired. This was done deliberately to prevent other firms from getting involved, who would raise the price by bidding. The result is there.”
Yesterday, 4 separate auctions were held for 4 separate plots with a total area of 480 acres. On this occasion, Peychev revealed:
„A total of 8 candidate-buyer companies for the 4 auctions appeared at the auction. For every single auction there were two companies, oddly enough – for every single auction, one of the participating companies did not pay the required deposit and was accordingly disqualified. So the other wins without bidding with some 10% on top. The price comes out to about 0.78 cents per square meter.“
The lease contracts, from which the Municipality of Tsarevo took money within 15 years, were concluded with the companies that participated in the bidding, the public official also commented. According to him, it is striking that this land, located so close to the sea, was sold at such a low price. He believes that this borders on a crime and if things continue in this spirit, the Municipality will be left without property and with loans that the people of Tsarevo will pay off for years.
