If the results of the elections on July 11 are repeated with those of April 4, this time from „There is such a people“ political party we will try to form a government, said Iva Miteva. She is the leader of two lists for the upcoming vote in Razgrad and 24th Multi-member Constituency in the capital. Miteva also commented to NOVA:
„Slavi Trifonov’s behavior is worthy. We have seen list leaders who then give up. And other people enter the parliament. Once he has decided that his place is not in parliament. It’s time for the real experts to enter parliament.“
Miteva said that if Trifonov ran for president, she would support him. According to her, the sanctions under the Magnitsky Act, imposed on Delyan Peevski, Vasil Bozhkov and Ilko Zhelyazkov and 64 other companies, do not oblige our country to take action. She is adamant that in order to have such sanctions from the US, an in-depth investigation appears to have been carried out and things must be serious, she added:. Then she added:
„As for our country, it is surprising that we have not adopted any sanctions so far against these people. You know the European Union’s reports on the rule of law. There, for 20 years, the criticism has been the same. I think we have too many norms. I see problems in the application of the laws.“
According to her, it will hardly be possible to get this „black list“ containing the companies and related persons who have been sanctioned by the USA. Miteva clarified that she is not aware of whether it is within the powers of the Council of Ministers to show this list based only on these sanctions. She concluded:
„My concerns are whether we are not on the edge of that Article 4 of the Constitution for our rule of law.“
