„Recently, GERB members have been trying to show themselves as political virgins. Boyko Borissov does not stop talking about corruption, and their parliamentary group constantly threatens to investigate, file reports against the rulers… And everything is stated in a tone of righteous indignation and in a posture of insulted innocence.“
This is what MP from „Democratic Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev wrote on Facebook. His post continues as follows:
„It’s as if they were formed yesterday, and they haven’t ruled for 12 years. It’s as if they didn’t let all kinds of interests eat away at the institutions for years until only the facade was left. As if they did not bring the country to the total energy dependence on Russia, which we are now suffering the consequences of.
They behave as if they did not mess up messes from which Bulgaria will recover for decades. Borisov said recently, GERB should have been the first political force to try to unite the people and restore tolerance. What tolerance? To corruption? It is ridiculous to give water to the world without drinking the very party that left us a legacy of the grandiose corruption scandals with Automagistrali, the houses for mothers-in-law, Apartmentgate, Corporate Commercial Bank, the embezzlement of funds from Bulgartabak and TPP Varna, the Bozhkov lottery, the concession for Sofia Airport, the toll system, the support walls, Barcelonagate, the locker with bundles of money… I’d better not go on.
Let’s remember who ruled for more than a decade and brought the country to a situation where quick repair is impossible. It’s good to remember these things because elections are coming and the old… cadres will be running for new saviors.”
