“Shocking things are happening in the Interior Ministry. Until yesterday, Mitov claimed that the deputy head of the GDBOP had been removed, and he turned out to be reassigned to the Interior Ministry. Today, the minister announced that “this employee is no longer part of the Interior Ministry system” and disciplinary proceedings are underway against him.”
This is what Ivaylo Mirchev, MP from Democratic Bulgaria, wrote in a comment on Facebook. Here is what else he revealed:
“The deputy head of the DGCPO in question is the person with the most frequently changing status (according to the minister’s description) in the system of the Ministry of Interior. And what we want is for all the documents in the case related to Peevski and Taki’s people in Plovdiv to be made public so that we can see how the Interior Ministry fights smuggling.
There are also questions. For example:
Is Minister Mitov familiar with the raid carried out by the SVD at the offices of PIMC in the case of missing cocaine and is this raid by the SVD in Plovdiv legal?
Did the professional leadership of the Ministry of Interior know about it? And what is the role of Petleshkov (the new strongman of Peevski and Taki in Plovdiv) in the implementation of this raid?”
