One of the important highlights of today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers in Bulgaria is the restart of the National Anti-Corruption Council, said Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.
The Prime Minister clarified that he will instruct the Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds and the Minister of Finance together with the Minister of Labor and Social Policy to develop a package of „Easter Support“ for the poorest Bulgarians. This aid will be due to higher food prices due to the war in Ukraine. The Prime Minister added:
„I hope that next week there will be such a package to support people to celebrate the Easter holidays, despite the war.“
The 60/40 program will be extended until the end of June, although the emergency situation will no longer be extended.
A draft decision on the adoption of an Action Plan for 2022 to implement the National Strategy for Prevention and Combating Irregularities and Fraud Affecting the EU’s Financial Interests for the period 2021-2027 is to be considered by the government at a regular meeting on Wednesday.
The cabinet is expected to adopt a draft decision on a proposal to the President of Bulgaria for the award of the Stara Planina Order Second Degree. Ministers are also to adopt a draft decision approving a comprehensive assessment of the potential for the implementation of high-efficiency combined heat and power generation and efficient district heating and cooling systems in Bulgaria.
