We have many candidates that we will propose, said Co-chairman of „We Continue the Change“ political party Kiril Petkov. He pointed out that he was honoured to be part of this government. In his words, there could be a new government in a few days. Tonight, the final document of the coalition agreement will be sent to the party headquarters for approval. Petkov told journalists:
„No names will be put in it. Only the policies finalized on the basis of the discussions we had will be sent today. The best option to have a government would be Thursday or Friday. If there is any debate, we can leave it for the beginning of next week, but we are in a hurry.“
Each of the parties will have the right to nominate its own candidates. Kiril Petkov is adamant that initially it will be done on trust. However, he added:
„If there is a failure to do a good job, or more dangerously, stepping aside from our main policy of zero tolerance for corruption, there will be no umbrella, regardless of which coalition force they come from. If I am in the role of Prime Minister, my task will be to make sure that these tasks are implemented. We have not discussed the final team, but up to this point we have been talking with everyone that the most logical thing is for “We Continue the Change“ to nominate its Prime Minister and the proposal of our coalition is that it should be me.„
The names proposed by „We Continue the Change“ are Boyko Rashkov for Interior Minister and Asen Vassilev for Finance Minister. For now, the plan is to give each ministry to only one party, which means that the minister and his deputies will be nominated by the same political force.
