At 4:00 p.m. today, Head of State Rumen Radev will hold a meeting with representatives of the parliamentary group of „We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“.

The meeting was initiated by the members of the second political force in the country, who want to discuss the current political situation and the options for resolving the political crisis. The reshuffle of party seats came after 17 MPs were expelled from the MRF parliamentary group last week. This put „We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“ in second place.

Meanwhile, leader of the „Vazrazhdane“ party, Kostadin Kostadinov, who is third, said that „We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“ should immediately return the mandate that Radev will hand over to them today. He advised them to cut off two of their MPs to make another reshuffle and make his party the second political force. We’d like to publish Kostadinov’s comment on Facebook without editorial intervention:

„We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“ want Radev to postpone the handing over of their mandate for two months. Our history does not remember a greater public admission of political impotence than this. That is why I call on the coalition either to return the mandate immediately or to split two MPs from their group.

Thus, „Vazrazhdane“ will become a second political force and save „We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria“ from humiliation. In addition, this way we will save the additional humiliation that Radev will inflict on the parliament, since he will certainly prefer to give the mandate to some semi-collapsed party than to the most stable political formation in Bulgaria – „Vazrazhdane“.
